edit introduction

Ryan DeLong is a 31 year old actor in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Ryan was introduced to acting in 2001 when his Junior High School made a full-length feature film. After he was cast as one of the lead roles, he decided to send his resume in to local casting directors. He quickly began getting auditions and earned his first professional acting credit on the YTV television series "2030CE".

In 2003, he was cast as a lead role of "Andrew- The Jock" in the stage representation of "The Breakfast Club". The following year he earned the lead in Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" where he played John Proctor. To this day, Ryan still considers this production "the most difficult thing I've ever accomplished", memorizing every line of every character in the 150 page script.

From 2005-2008, Ryan went to the University of Manitoba where he focussed primarily on film studies classes. There, he was taught by a couple of Internationally Acclaimed filmmakers; director/writer Guy Maddin and writer George Toles. Ryan continued acting in several student short films throughout his college years.

Ryan has always had a passion for voice acting and in 2008, he had the opportunity to audition for the South African animated series "Supa Strikas". He was shortlisted for the lead role. Despite falling short, he earned a role of a villain named "Ninja".

Throughout the late 2000's, Ryan became good friends with an extras casting director and was given the chance to work behind the camera for the first time, as an extras wrangler. This lead to several films in the Assistant Directors department.

In 2009, Ryan decided to start a career away from film. He became a pipefitter for Manitoba Hydro. Ironically, Ryan was doing some pipe work one day and by chance met a producer for "Power Smart-Smart Ideas" segments for CTV. Ryan spoke up and told her that he had acting experience and if they're ever looking for a new spokesperson, to audition him. A few months later, they did, and he was chosen. Since, he has been the spokesperson of Manitoba Hydro for a dozen commercials and several "How-To" videos for contractors. This reignited Ryan's passion for being on screen.

In 2017, he earned a lead role in the true-crime series "I Knew My Murderer".

In 2018, Ryan began acting classes at "The Acting Studio Winnipeg" under the direction of acclaimed actor/director Darcy Fehr.
